DATA PROTECTION GUIDELINE

VARTA Consumer Batteries GmbH & Co. KGaA (in the following “the Company”) is very concerned about the protection of personal data and its confidential handling and follows all statutory national and European data protection rules and regulations. The Company would therefore like to illustrate below some important aspects on what information and personal data the Company collects and how the Company handles it, including what information is gathered, how it is used, and with whom it is shared.

1. Collection, Processing And Use Of Data

As with most Websites, you may visit the Company´s Website without telling the Company your identity or revealing any data. The Company does collect information concerning the total number of visits, the total amount of time spent on the Company´s Website, the pages viewed, and records information from your browser, in particular your IP address and software and hardware attributes. This information is aggregated so that the Company can determine how the Company´s Website is being used and how it may be improved.

The Company stores information and personal data (in the following “data”) that you transmit voluntarily - these are, specifically, your name, your address, and your e-mail address.

When you first contact the Company, the Company creates a user profile in a database. Any additional data that you provide at a later stage will be stored under that profile.

Basically, the Company stores all data that you transmit to the Company, until you withdraw your consent. Naturally, you have the right to request partial or complete deletion of your data at any time. The Company will take care of such requests without delay. To the extent that the Company is legally obliged to store data, these data will not be deleted, but blocked.

3. Right Of Access To Data

Upon written request you can receive information about your stored data at any time.

4. Cookies

We use cookies to enhance your visits to our websites and to collect and store data for marketing and optimization purposes by using the technologies of etracker GmbH . A cookie is a small text file that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive and that allows a recognition of the browser. The Cookies we use do not store personal information but help to create user profiles using a pseudonym. They cannot damage your system.

You can deactivate the use of cookies any time by changing the preferences of your browser.

5. Transfer Of Data To Third Parties

The Company does not pass on collected data on to third parties, in particular the Company does not sell, lease or exchange your data except where such disclosure may be required by law or as expressly described below. In the event that subcontractors or agents perform the services which you have requested from the Company, the Company´s partners are required to handle the data confidentially and in accordance with statutory provisions only for the purpose of these services.

In addition, they are requested to treat your data in accordance with this data Protection Guideline and applicable law.

6. Security

The Company cares about the security of your data and utilizes all technical and organizational options to store the data in a way that is inaccessible for third parties.

All data is stored on servers which comply to high safety standards and are protected against access by unauthorized persons and misuse.
