Apart from storing music this versatile device now also plays video clips and videocasts downloaded from websites, digital video recorded from TV and video you shot yourself. Since we are talking about serious movie watching you can always change the screen format from vertical to horizontal widescreen setting. And that’s not all: the smart little fellow allows you to surprise your friends with an impromptu slideshow of your photos while listening to your favorite tunes. And now for the hard facts: the player’s 8 GB version stores up to 32 hours of video or up to 1000 video files. With a battery capacity of up to 8 hours of video (or 30 hours of music) you can almost watch the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy in one go. The 2” QVGA color LCD screen boasts a high 320 x 240 resolution including extra points for high contrast and brightness. The Sony Video Walkman is compatible with MPEG4 SP and AVC Bassline formats and comes with Image Converter 3 software for other formats.
