08.02.2006 - To be the first: Even in 2006, Varta does not lose sight of this goal. The Photo Accu 2,700 mAh strengthens Varta's own position as market leader. After only a few months, the new 2,700 rechargeable battery replaces its predecessor with 2,500 mAh and is now the strongest cell in the entire photography sector. Beginning in mid-February, the industry's new power media can be purchased in stores for € 11.99 (2x blister) and € 21.99 (4x blister).

"We can only assert our leading position in the rechargeable battery market through effective and ongoing research" says Matias Jennebach, general manager of Varta Germany. "Again, we establish standards for the whole industry with our new products for modern digital cameras." After all, the demands on rechargeable batteries increase with each new Digicam model. More megapixel, a powerful flash and large displays sharply increase energy consumption. "Now there is our new Photo Accu enabling energy-hungry digital cameras to even withstand extended photo sessions without problems" explains the Varta manager.
