Play it easy
Have you ever tried taking up a musical instrument and abandoned it after you realized how hard it is to actually play it? Then maybe this device will change your opinion: the Thummer, a USB powered MIDI controller, enables even inexperienced users to easily express themselves. Inspired by computer games the Thummer is controlled by two thumb-operated joysticks and 114 pressure-sensitive buttons which are arranged in such a way that you can play any song or chord based on the same fingering in any key. And this is what according to inventor Jim Plamondon makes the music’s structure more tangible and therefore easier to learn. In 2005 the Thummer was given the Australian WAITTA Award for being an outstanding innovation. The “Freedom” version will be commercially available this year.
